Rival Knights

The Game:  Rival Knights is a 3D jousting game with a medieval setting. The player's character participates in a tournament organized by the king to become Champion of the Dragon and win the King's Chest. By entering, the character wants to win the money to pay back the debts of his lord and prevent Lord Cunnings from taking his lord's land.

My Contributions

A unique yet straightforward game of medieval jousting, using systems and mechanics from the first CSR Racing game with a very different aesthetics. I was assigned to this project when it was already on Beta stage.

Design & UXProduct & DataEngineering
  • Balanced an economy that managed to peak at #33 at USA's iOS Top Grossing chart.
  • Game economy design and balancing: I've set the parameters for the economy, resource workflows and soft-currency prices;
  • Data analysis with MySQL, Python, Pandas, Statsmodel, Matplotlib and Seaborn.
  • Worked closely to monetization managers and product managers to track the performance of the game.
  • Programmed an economy simulator in C# in order to project the soft currency flow and inflation across different player personas.
  • The personas utilized resources and purchase decisions across a full year of simulated sessions.
