Incorporated

Timeline: 2005 to 2006. This project reached First Playable stage.

Platform: PC Windows

The Game: Incorporated was to be a 3D sim game in offices of a big corporation. Start as an intern and try to get promoted until retiring as the President of the company! Work hard or play office politics. Focus on tasks and be productive or focus on chatting and be popular.

My Contributions

My first ever 3D game, the idea was to mimic a few mechanics from The Sims but with a comical twist in an office environment, sort of like Dilbert comics and The Office TV show. This project received a sponsorship for workable prototypes from the Brazilian Department of Culture, and among the 8 other games to receive the same incentive, was considered the best outcome by the final reviewers.

  • Game design of all Content & Systems (GDD below, in Portuguese);

  • Character systems design;
  • 3C (Characters, Camera & Controls), with a free-moving camera and fully clickable scene;
  • UI art & user interface design.

  • Product pitches for publishers and investors.
The game and its tools were developed in C# (.Net) with a DirectX wrapper (TrueVision3D)
  • UI component library;
  • Animation system;
  • Tooling to edit and sync character interactions;
  • "Map editor" for game scenes;
  • 3DS MAX scripts to export assets;
  • Management of the VCS system (Alienbrain)
